Family Relief Fund

Families in Haiti are not struggling because of bad choices. They are struggling because the systems that protect families elsewhere never reached them.

The mother who rises before dawn to fetch water before the vendors arrive. The father who turned down work because his shoes won’t survive a full shift. The grandmother raising six grandchildren alone, rationing a single pot of food across two days. These are not edge cases — they are the everyday reality of thousands of households across Haiti.

Many are led by single mothers: abandoned, widowed, or left without a partner to share the weight of rent, food, school fees, and the costs no one plans for — a child’s fever, a broken cookstove, a landlord who won’t wait. These families have no buffer. One crisis is enough to unravel everything they have held together.

HOW WE SUPPORT VULNERABLE FAMILIES

We work directly with communities Emmanuel in Missions already serves — places where we know the pastor, the families, and the real needs on the ground. That closeness is not incidental. It is how we make sure every dollar reaches the right household at the right moment.

Our support takes two forms. First, immediate relief: emergency food, essential household supplies, and direct assistance for families in crisis. There is no overhead. No delay. Just help, at the moment it is needed most.

Second, we invest in small, community-rooted businesses that give families a foothold toward self-sufficiency. A food stand. A sewing operation. A small bakery. A one-time investment of a few hundred dollars can put a mother in a position where she is no longer waiting for help but building something for her children's future.
